Just as Storm Claudia hit the north-west the night before, the home side overwhelmed Manchester United aside at the Etihad. It was a emphatic three goal win for the City coach's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that truly announced their title credentials as they strengthened their place at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for United

This result signalled back-to-back WSL defeats for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them seven points off the top team with their trophy ambitions severely dented.

Overpowering Start
